Palestina

This silkscreen was made on the drawing of the Palestinian Abdel Rahman Al Muzain (عبد الرحمن المزين), someone who we would call a 'protest artist', after which he became politically engaged.  The drawing is from 1979 and is called the Beginning of the Hijra featuring the Protectors of al-Quds.  Al Quds is another name for Jerusalem.  Incidentally, the 5th figure from the left is Yasser Arafat (ياسر عرفات).
Since the original drawing is quite boring without color, I colored the drawing with 20 layers of color and the dome of the rock is provided with gold ink. The original drawing is at the Palestinian Museum Digital Archive (palarchive.org).
